Heritage Village Museum and The Voice of Black Cincinnati will host On Freedom's Doorstep: A Celebration of Cincinnati Black History on Saturday, June 6, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Heritage Village Museum in Sharon Woods Park. This event celebrates the lives and contributions of Black Cincinnatians from the city's chartering in 1788 to the end of World War I in 1919. Invited activities are as follows:

· Quilting History and Demonstration
· Morse Code History and Demonstration
· Hearth Cooking
· Children's Games
· Historic Interpreters in Period Clothes

Historic Southwest Ohio (HSO) operates the Heritage Village Museum and Educational Center. This private, non-profit organization owns and operates the buildings and collections of the Heritage Village Museum and Educational Center, a picturesque gathering of 13 authentic historical buildings that represent various aspects of family life during the 1800s. These buildings include historic homes, a train station, a doctor's office, a general store, a church, and a schoolhouse.
