Join us for our November Platform – Bournemouth’s longest running poetry event and the perfect place to share your words with other poets and writers. This month, we’re on a roll, celebrating the poet Hi-Ho by giving him one of our much sought after fifteen-minute guest slots!
Hi-Ho has been writing poems for over 30 years and has become one of Bournemouth’s most beloved and recognisable performers based on his unpredictable subject matter and inimitable delivery.
He’s described his poetic persona as being like the secret lovechild of Pam Ayres and John Cooper Clarke, with an extra big spoonful of punk mixed in for good measure – from the light-hearted playfulness of ‘On A Roll’ to the rebelliously boisterous ‘Headbutt’, you’re sure to hear a few old favourites as he takes to the stage to raise our spirits and warm our hearts with his energetic and rambunctious style.
We’ll also have our usual 5-minute Open Mic slots, so, if you want to perform, please sign up with Abby G or one of the hosts at 7.30pm. We do our best to get everyone on stage but can’t always guarantee a slot if you’re arriving after 7.30pm.
Make sure you bring £1 cash for the chance of winning a mystery poetry book & pen in our raffle. All funds raised go towards paying guest poets at future events.
Doors open at 7pm.
