Live V2X Technology Demonstrations by:

OmniTrust and Raven Connect will demonstrate next-generation Network V2X interoperability through a live outdoor ride-along experience. Showcasing secure and interoperable connected-vehicle communications in live network environments, the demonstration highlights how digitally signed infrastructure messages are validated and intelligently processed in real time using the OmniTrust platform and Raven Connect’s lightweight OBU interface. Together, the technologies deliver real-time network-based safety alerts that enhance driver awareness, safety, and connected mobility.

Kapsch, Audi, and Ettifos will demonstrate an interoperable J3217 V2X tolling application using an OmniAir-certified RSU and an integrated Audi dashboard. The demo showcases secure real-time toll transactions, dynamic pricing based on vehicle occupancy data, and the exchange of TIM and BSM messages, all orchestrated through the Kapsch Connected Mobility Control Center (CMCC).

Indra will demonstrate the first operational C-V2X deployment from North Carolina during the OmniAir Maryland Plugfest. The demo showcases simultaneous SAE-standard V2X tolling and safety applications from a single Cohda Wireless roadside unit, integrated directly into Audi’s in-vehicle display. Attendees will experience real-time tolling notifications alongside pedestrian and stopped-vehicle safety alerts delivered.

Morgan State University will demonstrate their Bear Alert: A Work Zone Safety Alert System. SMARTER has developed Bear Alert, an intelligent work zone warning system designed to protect construction workers in high-risk traffic environments. Combining LiDAR sensors, networked edge computing, and a predictive time-to-collision algorithm, the system delivers real-time alerts to work zone personnel the moment an elevated crash risk is detected. Early results from its inaugural pilot deployment on Hillen Road near the Morgan State University campus confirm both the scale of the speeding problem in active work zones and the system’s practical value to the workers operating within them.

Indoor Technology Demonstrations by:

The U.S. Army, Digital Twin Virtual Environments demonstration showcases the use of high-fidelity virtual replicas of physical systems, infrastructure, and operational environments to support training, planning, and experimentation. The capability enables users to simulate real-world conditions, test scenarios, and evaluate outcomes in a virtual space, improving decision-making, mission readiness, and system performance before real-world deployment.

Raven Connect “Trip Replay” tabletop demonstration showcases enhanced situational awareness for proactive road safety. Using road-facing video inputs, the system simulates real-time hazard detection and generates alerts for events that are not yet visible to the driver, effectively “seeing around corners.” The demo highlights how Raven’s technology anticipates roadway risks and delivers early warnings to improve driver awareness and response time.

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Saxton Transportation Operations Laboratory One-Tenth Scale Connected Vehicle Model is an interactive miniature smart transportation environment that demonstrates connected infrastructure and automated vehicle concepts. It showcases how vehicle-to-infrastructure communication, traffic operations strategies, and connected mobility technologies function in a scaled, real-world simulation environment for research, testing, and visualization of future transportation systems.

The University of Maryland demonstration showcases integration between a Connected and Automated Vehicle (CAV) platform and autonomous robotic systems, including a robotic dog, to support advanced mobility, situational awareness, and infrastructure interaction.

Johns Hopkins University S4 Lab Annual Research Projects Showcase highlights cutting-edge research in transportation systems, autonomy, and cybersecurity. The demonstration presents current projects exploring secure and resilient connected mobility, advanced sensing and control, and emerging technologies shaping future transportation and infrastructure systems.

Prince George’s County Government will showcase its National Harbor Connected Vehicle City initiative, along with a mobile trailer and a tabletop LiDAR demonstration. The exhibit highlights real-world deployment of connected infrastructure and smart mobility technologies in National Harbor, supporting safer and more efficient transportation.
