ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE RIDE:
This is an intermediate level ride, for both the long and short routes. Good bike handling skills, road awareness and fitness are required. Familiarity with riding on gravel is recommended but not necessary. The routes are not technical, think farm roads, champagne gravel and more. Note that the routes are lengthy and there are some sections on busy roads.
There is only one place on the route for food:
Tractor 828 Cafe (closes 3pm). This cafe is 35km into the route & 78km into the route.
There is trackwork on a number of train lines. Plan ahead and allow extra time to get up to Richmond for the 9am start.
Bring plenty of snacks and everything you need to be self-sufficient.
Please upload the ride file to your Garmin or GPS device. The Omafiets & Curve crew will be on course to help riders through, but we need you to do your part too. If you don't have a device, ride with someone who does. We don't want anyone to get lost and left behind. There is no formal organisation - it will just be like you're out riding with your mates - nothing more.
