Singer, Songwriter and Fiddler, Olivia Ross, is playing for us at Montrose Playhouse to showcase her solo Album, entitled ” Grace The Blue.” Olivia will be playing in trio format with two other outstanding female musicians, in Anna Massie, on guitar and fiddle, together with Laura-Beth Salter, on guitar and mandolin.Olivia Ross is best known as a member of the all-female Super group, The Shee, with whom she has toured for almost twenty years and recorded four Albums. She has also performed with Scottish Folk Big Band, The Unusual Suspects. The new revelation, with the release of her solo Album, is Olivia’s work as a Songwriter, placing her firmly in the tradition of Carole King and Laura Marling.
Olivia Ross has a warm and distinctive voice; her smoke and honey tones conjure Americana and Scottish Folk songwriting equally well. Anna Massie is one of Scottish Music’s foremost guitarists. As an exceptional multi- instrumentalist, Anna is renowned for her work with Blazin’ Fiddles and Rant. A fine Singer and Songwriter herself, Laura-Beth Salter is also a member of Kinnaris Quintet.
