Oliver Chen, 2024 Odyssiad® Gold Medalist, performs Liszt’s Totentanz with the Fort Collins Health & Wellness Community Orchestra, Cayla Bellamy, Conductor, on Sunday, October 26, 4 p.m., Griffin Concert Hall. This is a FREE event.Chen is a passionate pianist, student of Dr. Alex McDonald, and rising senior at Plano East Senior High. Beginning piano at the age of 5 with Oklahoma-based Terri Hlubeck, Oliver has competed in many local and state competitions, such as TMTA and Dallas Piano Solo. His most recent competition was the International Keyboard Odyssiad® & Festival, where he won the Gold Medal in the Single Movement Concerto Division.
Outside of piano, Oliver is a dedicated student and music enthusiast, and he enjoys serving his community as the founder of the nonprofit Glee Kids Troupe. Currently, Oliver is working towards his Medical Assisting certification through his school’s Health Science Academy program, and he hopes to become a pathologist.
