Come along for an immersive experience of olive harvesting and processing. Meeting at Cannington Exhibition Centre we will travel closeby for an hour of olive tree harvesting at a local venue (carpooling encouraged). You will then use this fresh produce to master the arts of several different ways of curing and preserving green and/or black olives, along with tastings, so you know what deliciousness to expect.
This workshop will take the mystery out of the pickling process and give you the knowledge of how to create delicious additions to your antipasto platters, pastas and more.

1. How and where to pick fresh olives
2. Methods of olive pickling and processing
3. Benefits of olives for your health
4. How best to serve and eat olives (which you can enjoy antipastos provided by Community Harvest!)
It's another not-for-profit priced, hands-on, fun, delicious, social, and informative session run by the Community Harvest Group and supported by Canning Show, which you can enter these in its Exhibition later in the year if you'd like! Plus enjoy tastings adn antipasto goodness, and take away heaps of olives ready to eat once the curing process is complete.

**MEMBERSHIP - PLEASE NOTE:
EVERYONE is welcome to this workshop, however please note:
- If you have already been to a Community Harvest event before and are not a 2023 CAHRS Member, you will also need to renew/purchase a Membership for $25.
- Becoming a member will see you receive the benefits below, including attending other Community Harvest events throughout the year without a need to pay membership again.
- Memberships can be paid before or at the workshop.
- If this is to be your first Community Harvest workshop, there is no need to purchase a membership as it will be considered a trial.

- Antipasto share food, including olives, of course!
- Tea & Coffee
TO BRING:
- 2x 1L jars for your pickled olives
- Keep cup for tea/ coffee
- Closed-in shoes and sunscreen/hat/appropriate wear

We will travel to a nearby olive harvesting site, and can car pool if don't have transportation. Then back to CECS to do the workshop

ABOUT COMMUNITY HARVEST:
Community Harvest is a not-for-profit group connecting anyone interested in preserving seasonal harvests. Passata making, olive curing, oil processing, sausage making and more, our aim is to create a melting pot of cultures united in preserving and sharing food traditions.
Workshops are priced to cover the materials (and facilitator if hired), varying across sessions, but always kept low. Everyone with an interest is welcome to join, provided you become a CAHRS Member if attending more than once.

If the event is cancelled for any reason, refunds will be provided.
However, please note that attendee numbers are limited, and ingredients and equipment are purchased according to bookings. So - as a not-for-profit series of events - refunds for ticket-holders who want to cancel for their own reasons are generally not able to be made. If you have allergies to certain ingredients, please check with organisers before purchasing tickets.
