About this Event
Welcome to Summer Studio!
Summer Studio helps programs and institutions accelerate their high-priority institutional initiatives related to teaching and learning. Leveraging the resources of Olin’s unique campus environment, the Summer Studio also serves as an intensive project-based professional development experience for the teams of educators that attend to drive these projects forward.
The Summer Studio program is designed for new and experienced faculty members, administrative leaders, and professional staff of educational institutions who are committed to making a positive impact in the world through innovative and effective approaches to teaching and learning. Students and alumni are also welcome to participate in the program as co-designers.
- Each team of 4 - 6 participants will spend 4 days working on thier educational design project with coaching by Olin faculty facilitators, followed by a half day retrospective session that concludes with the creation of an action plan for next steps.
- To provide necessary foundation in educational design practices, educational content and resources will be provided for asynchronous engagement prior to the Summer Studio week.
- Participants will have the opportunity to interact with Olin College faculty, staff, and students who can provide subject matter expertise, feedback on prototypes, and insights drawn from their own experiences.
- Each team will be provided with a dedicated workspace for project work, as well as access to Olin's academic facilities.
- Prior to arriving on campus, each team will meet remotely with their Olin coaches to discuss the team's project and goals for the week.
