About this Event
Open to people of all levels, especially beginners to voguing/dancing.
What to expect: Voguing foundation (Classic Performance), Ballroom history & culture, intuitive movement, Q&A/discussions, obscure food analogies.
Voguing is a dance-based art form that is just one part of Ballroom - a culture that grew from the Black and Latinx LGBTQ+ communities in prisons and the Harlem drag ball scene.
It doesn't matter if you've not danced before or never heard of Voguing. This is a relaxed space for people of all abilities & backgrounds to discover Ballroom, discover themselves and most importantly to have fun! ?
CW: I talk very frankly about things that can be triggering to some eg. discrimination, gender, sexuality, mental illness, addiction etc. Please bear this in mind when booking ?
These sessions are Pay-What-You-Can. Suggested donation: £8-10 for Queer/Trans Black/Indigenous/People of Colour; £10-13 otherwise.
If you're short on coin, sharing the event and inviting friends is really appreciated either way :D
Please book online to avoid disappointment - limited tickets on the door (cash only).
[Anyone turned away due to capacity being reached (and not having bought ticket online), can pay on that day to guarantee a space in the next available workshop.]
