Workshop Description
Join Sew Freaky in a fun workshop to make stretchy t-shirts into underwear: gender-affirming and accessible closure options are available, Choose from granny pants, hipsters, thongs, or mini shorts. Just in time to surprise your sweetie for Valentine’s Day.
Participants are to provide hip, waist, and thigh measurements and choose which style of undies to make: Granny panty, hipster, mini shorts, or thong before the workshop so we can have the proper patterns available. Patterns courtesy of Rebirth Garments. T-shirts will be provided, but please bring at least two of your own to transform into underwear.
Participants should have some sewing experience (be able to thread a sewing machine).
Please note we have a sliding scale for tickets for this event! The break down is as follows:
General Admission #1: Covers the cost of workshop and materials
General Admission #2: Covers cost of workshop, materials, and supports the instructor
General Admission #3: Covers cost of workshop, materials, supports the instructor, and helps keep our workshops more accessible

We are a group of like-minded creatives who love to sew, create community, and make sewing sustainable. Made up of :
Lucy Ornelas
Lucy is a San Francisco Textile Artist and Educator devoted to building a safe environment where everyone can enjoy and explore their culture through all forms of art while empowering them with the skills and knowledge to bring their visions to life. She has explored many art mediums, from metal arts, illustration, painting, fashion, and fiber arts, to nail art. Over the past decade, she has focused on all aspects of fashion design and construction. She has shared her skills and knowledge with people of all ages and experiences in San Francisco. @lucydiamondsinthesky
Kaleigh Moynihan: trash queen and lifelong garment maker and designer with the skills to make any garment fantasy a reality! I make garments for all genders, abilities, sizes, and ages, to create a world with more options as well as equity in the pursuit of personal style and expression. @authenticskidmark
Amy Auerbach
Amy Auerbach is a passionate sustainable fashion advocate and designer committed to maximizing materials to their fullest potential and reducing textile waste. Through teaching sewing and organizing mending clinics, she embodies sustainability in action, demonstrating fashion's potential as a transformative force for good. Her inspiring projects focused on upcycling can be found @auerstyle.
