Old Stones - Lino Cutting with Hwæt! Zine
Come and join us for a creative evening exploring ancient rock art at The Northern Market in Leeds.
Our fascination with ancient stones spans back many many years and our home turf of Yorkshire has only fed that enthusiasm. Amongst the gorse and heather of the Yorkshire landscape you will find hundreds of examples of ancient rock art, notably 'cup and ring' marks hewn into rough rock faces by our ancient ancestors. Our love of these stones has found us scanning the entire country for more examples of this elusive prehistoric art form. We are very excited to share this enthusiasm, so have put together a workshop centred around these mysterious petroglyphs... what better medium than lino cutting! Whether you are a seasoned lino cutter or a first-timer, this workshop is suitable for all. You will be taking your very own ancient rock art inspired prints home with you, as well as the skills to continue printing.
We will be bringing our tools and materials along with a huge pile of research books for you all to draw inspiration from, and will show the ropes to any newcomers to lino cutting.
Join us for a lovely relaxing evening of art and ancient history, and don't forget, the bar will be open and food will be served at the venue. Spaces are limited so book early to avoid disappointment!
