In the 1920s, Harlem gave birth to the Rent Party — gatherings where neighbors came together to raise money to help one another keep a roof overhead. Friends would open their homes, a musician would entertain, and a hat would be passed to collect funds for someone in need. These events were about more than rent — they were about resilience, community, and joy in the face of hardship.
A century later, we’re bringing that same spirit to Chicago.

This time, we’re raising money to support those in our community who are facing economic challenges by providing grocery gift cards to families in need.
