About this Event
Leatherworking was one of the key crafts in medieval Vilnius. We invite you to join our educational workshop dedicated to exploring the leather goods made by Vilnius residents in the 13th-16th centuries. The session features an extensive display of reconstructed leather items based on archaeological findings from Vilnius, including footwear, bags, and toys. You'll also have the opportunity to learn about the traditional tools and techniques used by ancient cobblers. In the hands-on part of the workshop, you'll master the art of traditional leather braiding and create your own leather bracelet to take home. The workshop lasts 60 minutes and is led by archaeologist Dr. Arūnas Puškorius.
