About OKHA

PRIM's OKHA book club is dedicated to bringing you works by African, Caribbean and Afro-Latinx people. To providing a space for book lovers and those who never really read to come together and to give us all room to share perspectives, learnings and our experiences orally.

Let's analyse, educate and build community - one tale at a time.

OKHA means story/tale in the Edo language of Nigeria. It is a new community focused space aiming to bring people together, in particular, queer and black people. We do however, want this to be a fully inclusive space meaning being queer is not a prerequisite for attendance but a clear indication of the tone and energy of the space. OKHA is ever evolving and are constantly learning.

We ask that all our supporters are patient with us and always let us know what we're missing, what we can do better and how to ensure we keep the 'us' and the 'we' forever at the centre of what we do. Ur thoughts are welcome, always.

Brought to you by PRIM

PRIM is a digital platform for storytelling.

Our goal is to make stories of African, Caribbean and Afro-Latinx fam accessible to all. We have so many amazing Black storytellers who have contributed to the platform and we know you’re going to love their work!

From a pioneering author’s catalogue and written stories to video readings, films, documentaries, narrative podcasts and more, you’ll find it all on PRIM - Stories created and told by us.

It’s been quite the journey to get here and we could not be more excited or proud of what we have achieved and your support to get us here.
