Team leader Svyatoslav Vakarchuk since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, joined the territorial defense of the Lviv Region. The musician visits the hot spots of the front, liberated from the occupation of the city, supports the defenders and provides volunteer assistance to those in need. He also continues to inspire soldiers and the Ukrainian people with creativity, singing songs at railway stations and streets. Recently Svyatoslav Vakarchuk spoke at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
The group's first charity performance took place on April 24 in the Kiev metro, which became a refuge for thousands of Kyivans during Russian missile attacks on centuries-old Kyiv. The concert "I will be good" was shown on the air of a nationwide telethon, and more than 22 countries joined the broadcast. During the broadcast, almost 9 million hryvnias were raised, which were used to purchase medical equipment for children's hospitals in Mykolaiv and Zaporozhye. It is there that the wounded and children with amputations are taken as a result of shelling by the occupiers of the east and south of Ukraine.
“During our tour, of course, we will raise funds for the needs, first of all, of Ukrainian children who suffered during this terrible war.
And also to remind the world that Ukrainians today are fighting not only for their country, but also stand guard over democracy, freedom and development of all of Europe, and often the world. We are infinitely grateful to Latvia, whose support we see, know and feel for all Latvians since 2014! Thank you!” Svyatoslav Vakarchuk shared the main goal of the tour.
