OIL PAINTING WORKSHOP
Have you ever wanted to give oil painting a go but didn’t know where to begin? I have you covered with my oil painting classes for beginners!
The winter is dragging on, everywhere and everything is grey and the seasonal affective disorder is really starting to set in.
I feel you - I’m originally from Australia.
What’s the art class all about?
Held in the cozy and creative space ‘Studio 4’, located in Friedrichshain, my oil painting workshop aims to cultivate a creative, stress free afternoon where we will explore light art theory and indulge in a practical art lesson.
In this three hour lesson we will explore complementary colour combinations vital to making our work pop, mixing desired colors from scratch, illustration and useful blending techniques.
This month's theme centres around organic shapes and therefore we will be focusing on plant life and fruit and vegetables.
If there is something different and special you’d like to paint, bring it along! I love and encourage spontaneous creativity.
By the end of the class you will have a tangible, handmade A4 original painting to take home.
Important to note:
While it is not totally necessary, as we are working with oil paint I suggest leaving it at the workspace for 3 - 5 days to allow sufficient dry time.
PROVIDED BY THE WORKSHOP:
All you need to bring is yourself!
All materials are supplied.
We will be working with:
- oil paint
- linseed oil
- eco brush cleaner
- I will have paint brushes and paper supplied.
It is important to me to work in the most ecologically friendly way possible. Therefore we will be straying away from traditional turpentine, using eco cleaning supplies and paying special attention to brush care and sustainability
I do suggest wearing clothes you are not attached to. While we will be fairly clean and minimal with the paint, there is the off chance of getting a bit dirty.
