The theme we have picked for the 8th issue of OHOHOzin is: Infinity!
Infinity symbolizes that which is devoid of boundaries and we expect from you the same: a whole range of stories and approaches.
From the spiritual and trans-humanist, to the banal, like the feeling that physics class lasts forever because it is the last one on the schedule on Friday. ..or a story about beings who are immortal and don’t know what to do with themselves anymore. Victorian ghosts condemned to watch the world around them change. The idea of human consciousness uploaded to a server and what makes us human in the first place?

♾️Comics can be submitted only via form in the end of the row.
♾️Number of pages: 1-8
♾️We are ok with more pages if you feel so inspired, but you will need to really impress the editorial team for it to make it into the issue!
♾️Color: black and white or grayscale. (We strongly suggest you do black and white (b/w)! In case you do go gray scale please be mindful of differences in tones. We have had problems in past issues of print being darker than expected.)
♾️Comics must be in dimensions: 17,6 x 25 cm (B5). With included bleed (3mm) it’s 18,2 x 25,6 cm. Resolution: 300 dpi minimum. Format: JPEG. DON’T SEND PDF-s.
♾️In case you are drawing the comic by hand, the pages have to be scanned in properly. Not photographed by phone.
♾️Language: primarily Croatian or any regional language such as Serbian or Bosnian etc. You can send an English version of your comic if you are not from the regions mentioned above.
♾️In case the comic is written in some other alphabet, such as Cyrillic, please send us the translation in an editable text document.
♾️Please do not publish the comic you submit to this open call in any other publications or on the internet until you know if it’s gonna be part of OHOHOzin.
♾️DEADLINE is: April 30th 2026.
♾️After the deadline you will be contacted by the editorial team about whether your work has made the cut.
♾️Selected works will be published in OHOHO zin #8 and will also be part of an exhibition in the OHOHO festival (Siva gallery, Medika)
♾️OHOHO zin is a magazine that showcases alternative and indie comics, so that kind of style will be given priority during the selection process. You can find samples of this in our past issues.
♾️If your comic gets picked you will be asked to supply us with an English translation since the zine is published in both Croatian and English. And you will need to supply us with a short biography (not more than 800 characters) in both English and Croatian.

The editorial work at OHOHOzine, as well as designing and preparing each issue for print is voluntary. Money made from the purchase or donation of the zine goes directly into print, be it for the current issue or the next one.

OHOHOzin is publication started in 2019. during the OHOHO festival of comics and street art.
It is alternative comic that host many regional comic authors through open call that every year has a different theme. Till now we’ve published 7 issues of OHOHOzines: OHOHOzin#1 on theme ‘subversion and antifascism’, OHOHOzin#2 on theme ‘Slavic mythology and folclore’, OHOHOzin#3 on theme ‘Love triangle’, OHOHOzin#4 on theme ‘Space opera, OHOHOzin#5 on theme ‘Money’, OHOHOzin#6 on theme ‘HORROR MANGA, OHOHOzin#7 "Body". POZIV ZA OBJAVU STRIPA:
Tema novog, osmog broja OHOHOzina je: Beskonačnost!
Beskonačnost simbolizira ono što je lišeno granica a mi od vas očekujemo cijeli dijapazon priča i pristupa.
Od duhovnih pa do transhumanističkih, pa do banalnih, kao osjećaj da sat fizike traje u beskonačnost jer je zadnji u rasporedu u petak. Red na šalteru u poreznoj?
Sve je to cijela vječnost i onda još malo!
..ili pak priča o bićima koja su besmrtna i ne znaju više što bi sa sobom. Viktorijanski duhovi osuđeni da promatraju kako se svijet oko njih mijenja. Ideja ljudske svijesti uploadane na server i što nas uopće čini ljudima?
Ili pak onaj transhumanizam koji je nekoć bio znanstvena fantastika, a danas taj postaje sve popularniji termin kada se u sferi politike polemizira o stvarnim agendama privilegiranih tech-bilionera.
Nema granica, ali zato ima tu materijala i veselimo se vidjeti što ćete smisliti!
No ova tema nije jedino po čemu će ovaj novi broj zina biti poseban! Naime po prvi puta biramo i autora ili autoricu naslovnice na temelju stripa koji nam se najviše svidi!
Tako da možda baš tvoja interpretacija vječnosti bude i vodeći vizual cjelog broja!
Molimo, pažljivo pročitajte uvjete poziva:
♾️Strip možete prijaviti isključivo putem formulara (pri dnu popisa uvjeta natječaja)
♾️Broj stranica: 1 – 8
♾️Može i više ako ste nadahnuti, ali uredništvo mora biti impresionirano!
♾️Boja: crno-bijelo (c/b) ili grayscale [sugeriramo da naginjete na c/b! U slučaju grayscalea molimo da naglasite tonske razlike kako bismo izbjegli probleme s tiskom u vidu toga da Vam table budu tamnije nego je to predviđeno].
♾️Format: strip MORA biti u dimenzijama 17,6 x 25 cm (B5). Uz bleed od 3mm sa svake strane taj iznos je 18,2 x 25,6 cm. Rezolucija: 300 dpi minimum. Format: JPEG. Ne šaljite nam PDF-ove!
♾️Ako vam se crtež proteže do ruba stranice, računajte obavezno na bleed!
♾️Ukoliko radite analogno, stripovi moraju biti poslani skenirani, a ne fotografirani mobitelom.
♾️Jezik stripa: obavezno je da jezik bude hrvatski ili srpsko-hrvatski.
♾️Jezik stripa: ukoliko nije na latiničnom pismu, molimo dostavite prijevod u editabilnom tekst dokumentu.
♾️Molimo vas ne objavljujete strip namijenjen OHOHOzinu u drugim publikacijama i na internetu dok ne budete obaviješteni je li vaš strip prošao selekciju.
♾️ Rok je: 30.4.2026.
♾️Nakon roka uredništvo će Vas kontaktirati i obavijestiti o rezultatu.
Odobreni radovi će ugledati svjetlo dana u OHOHOzinu#8, te na zidovima galerije Siva u Medici.
♾️OHOHO zin je strip-magazin alternativnog/indie izričaja stoga prednost imaju stripovi stilski prilagođeniji istom opusu. Primjer: OHOHO zin #1 – OHOHO zin#7.
♾️Nakon odobrenja vašeg stripa za objavu, trebat ćemo englesku verziju tekstova jer je OHOHO zin dvojezičan.
Uz to trebat ćemo i kratku biografiju (do 1,800 znakova) na engleskom i hrvatskom.
♾️Za sve dodatne izmjene bit ćete obaviješteni u ovom eventu!
