Join us on Wednesday, August 21 when we welcome podcasters Spencer Henry and Madison Reyes for the release of their book, Obitchuary: The Big Hot Book of Death! Presented by Green Apple Books, this event will be held at The Dairy (the venue inside the Sports Basement Presidio).
Henry and Reyes will talk, revel, and answer audience questions. Signing line to follow. Tickets include a copy of Obitchuary.

About Obitchuary
Based on the popular podcast, Obitchuary will be a funny but “deadly” serious look at the way that Americans handle death, mourning, and the commemoration of people they love.

With illustrated chapters like "Keep In Touch" on seance, ouija, and the history of connecting to the dead, "Obituaries" on the wildest real-life obituaries, and "Pet Cemetary" on the inventive things people do for their deceased pets and the ways in which pets mourn their owners, Madison and Spencer guide us through surprisingly colorful history, traditions, and contemporary practises to demystify taboo topics.

About the Authors
Best friends and co-hosts Spencer Henry (Cult Liter Podcast) & Madison Reyes have a long-running history of sending each other the wildest, most absurd, and sometimes scathing obituaries. In 2021 they decided to share their findings with the world when they launched OBITCHUARY the hilarious, hit weekly Podcast, and it turned out the world was eager to hear it. Each week OBITCHUARY listeners tune in to laugh alongside Spencer and Madison as they deep-dive into macabre history, funeral facts, and of course some wild obituaries.

Copies of Obitchuary will be available at the door upon your arrival to the event.
Seating will be first come, first serve. Priority seating will be given to wheelchair/walker users and other attendees with disabilities. Follow our ticketing page for details.
This is an in-person, ticketed event and will not be livestreamed. No refunds will be given after the event date for those unable to attend.
If for whatever reason you are unable to attend but would still like your copy of the book, books will be available for pick up at 1231 9th Ave after the event at no extra charge. If you would like your book shipped, additional charges will apply.
To attend the event, you must purchase a ticket through this Eventbrite page. Purchase of Obitchuary made through the bookstore website do not grant entry to the event.

The venue is located on ground level, and there are no stairs between the parking lot and the venue space.
The parking lot is directly in front of the store with several handicap parking spots close to the entrance.
