Since it's inception 50+ years ago, rap has become one of the most culturally important genres.
We'd like to invite all rappers, poets, spoken word artists, producers, and instrumentalists to come together for a evening of spontaneous creativity.
Bring your bars, bring your beats, bring your instruments, and bring your friends!
Why is something like this a part of a holistic healing center?
1. Our words are one of our most powerful healing tools. We can use them to build ourselves up, heal, and expand our consciousness and connection to God / Source / Creator.
We can also use them to hurt ourselves and others, create separation, and trauma loops.
2. Creativity and self expression are such an important part of being a human. This event creates a safe space for our community to come together and tap into their inner creativity and self expression.. with the intention of empowering those who come to be more confident and open to speaking their truth.
3. Vulnerability is required. It takes a lot of courage to get in front of others and rap, sing, even just talk! So this is a practice of leaning into being vulnerable, being seen, and being accepted for exactly who you are.
Here is the thing.. this is a healing space.. so the challenge we have for you is to use your words to inspire, uplift, and not just talk about guns, money, exploitation of women, killing people, drugs, etc.
It can be a part of your story, absolutely. But it comes down to the intention you have in sharing your music and story.
Is it promoting self growth, great!
Is it perpetuating cycles of pain, trauma, fighting, etc..
Well then we are going to challenge you to dig deeper and take a look are your message.. and turn that into something positive.
We have some really cool ideas that are going to create some amazing spaces of creativity.
