A fabulous walk which includes lots of local history, a viaduct a canal and some scary stories as we walk alongside an old quarry.
 ABOUT THE WALK
This circular walk starts out at the meeting point, The walk is a nice casual walk around the outskirts of Rugby Town as we walk on the Viaduct paths that lead us down to part of the Oxford canal and around Newbold Quarry. The walk also incorporates some of the Nature Reserve which is beautiful.
The Midland Counties Railway viaduct (known locally as the Eleven Arches Viaduct) is a disused railway viaduct at Rugby, which crosses over both the A426 Rugby to Leicester Road, and the River Avon to the north of Rugby town centre. The viaduct is approximately 700 feet (210 metres) long, and consists of eleven elliptical arches, elevating 40 feet (12 m) above the valley floor.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome to come and there are no stiles to worry about
Stop in the cosy pub for a beverage after the walk (dogs are not allowed inside but can be in the garden area)
