Part of Oxford Folk Festival 2026Doors open at 4:15pm,
Dance 4:30 - 6:30
We are delighted to present the superb and virsatile duo Bailey & Keely playing for a balfolk dance. Radio 2 Folk Awards nominee Saul Bailey (accordions, concertina) and composer and multi-instrumentalist Mitch Keely (fiddle) met on the English session scene and instantly clicked over their love of pushing tunes beyond their limits. Together, they draw upon a shared history of dance music, combining traditional and original tunes with their signature irreverence and appreciation for the weird and wonky. Their debut album, Atthomis, released in 2024 to critical praise. No two gigs are the same, and audiences can expect to be as surprised as the players.
Expect waltzes, mazurkas, scottishes, bourrées, dances from Brittany. This dance links with the earlier balfolk workshop with Balfolk Oxford. The workshop is a seperate event to this one, and tickets can be booked at https://app.tickettailor.com/events/oxfolkceilidhs/1982171
Tickets are priced £14 standard, £9.50 concession and £5 for 5-16 yrs and free for under 5s and carers. We accept online payments with PayPal. Please contact us directly for other options.
