Our guest speaker for October is Robin Hare, who teaches biology at UWA. His talk will summarise his PhD research on Kawanaphila nartee, a pollen-eating bushcricket (Tettigoniidae) from WA that undergoes behavioural sex role reversal - a rare trait that provides insights into evolutionary biology. Weather permitting, after the talk (~8:30pm) Robin will lead attendees into Kings Park to look for K. nartee on native vegetation. If you'd like to join the walk, please wear sturdy shoes and bring a head/hand torch and something warm to wear.
