The Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College Foundation will hold its annual Home and Garden Symposium on Wednesday, May 13, in the OCtech Math and Science Center.Guests will enjoy brunch and have an opportunity to browse the silent auction before the formal presentation begins in Roquemore Auditorium.
This year’s speaker is Orangeburg native Ellen Benton.
Benton is a celebrated florist, orchid expert and manager of Cricket Newman Designs in Columbia. Benton will showcase the art of blending live and permanent seasonal blooms and plants. She will share creative tips for incorporating both fresh and faux florals, along with inspiring ideas for styling them beautifully in your home or on your porch.
Benton’s second presentation will guide guests from picnic-inspired casual to beautifully polished gatherings. Guests will explore how paper, linens and thoughtful pattern mixing can transform any table into an elegant experience with ease.
Tickets are $60 per person. Funds raised through the Home and Garden Symposium help students with the cost of attending college and support additional educational projects that connect them to a world of possibilities.
