About this Event
Welcome to Oceanic Literacy Day at The Open Book, Topanga! Dive into a world of knowledge and exploration as we celebrate our oceans and the creatures that call them home. In collaboration with The Open Book, The Persaud Foundation will be holding an Oceanic Literacy Day! We will be having an oceanic storytime for children at 2:30 PM with the book "Shark Lady: The True Story of How Eugenie Clark Became the Ocean's Most Fearless Scientist", by Jess Keating. Afterward, we will have a Question & Answer Session about Marine Biology & Science Communication, in which our Founder, Gwenevere Persaud, will discuss how she founded this nonprofit, & answer any questions regarding getting into the field or general facts about the field. We will also be handing out Stickers & Pins while supplies last! If you decide to purchase any books & mention our nonprofit, 20% of your purchase will be donated to us.
This event is completely free, all that we ask is that you register for it. Whether you're a marine enthusiast or just curious about the underwater world, this event is perfect for all ages & families. Learn about marine conservation, discover fascinating facts about ocean life, and get inspired to protect our seas for future generations.
