About this Event

dublab and the Annenberg Community Beach House present Periphone, a sound installation by Nina Keith, alongside Light & Air Studies, a textile installation by Faith-Ann Kiwa Young, as part of the 3rd annual Ocean of Sound.

Ocean of Sound is an evening of restorative listening above and below the water. Lay back and lounge poolside, beneath the setting sun, or dive beneath the surface to experience our underwater speakers, resonating with live sonic contributions from Meg Duffy and Qur’an Shaheed.

is a multidisciplinary artist and composer from Philadelphia currently based in Los Angeles. Her work explores themes of death and groundlessness through music and sound art.

is a guitar-focused musician, composer, and songwriter. They write and release songs as Hand Habits, play in Perfume Genius, and may have played guitar on a song you have heard. They hope to be a good friend, an open/curious listener, and unafraid of change.

is an experimental pianist, poet, singer and songwriter based in Los Angeles, CA. Trained extensively in jazz, classical and contemporary music, her sound is innovative and personal, incorporating elements of improvisation as well as neo-classical and neo-soul techniques. Shaheed also composes film scores, focusing on projects that reflect on society, history and unifying acts. Her album Pulse, produced by Spencer Hartling, was released in 2025 on Leaving Records.

is a Los Angeles-based artist working across textiles, photography, and installation. A 2026 Artist in Residence with the City of Santa Monica, her work explores memory, presence, and collective experience through translucent, light-responsive environments.

is a Los Angeles-based, community-supported internet radio station and creative collective dedicated to the growth of positive music, arts, and culture. Founded in 1999, dublab has been broadcasting since the “dot-com era” with the mission to share forward-thinking, freeform radio with an international audience. dublab’s programming has since expanded to include the production of original art exhibits, films, television, events, and community education projects as well as broadcast on affiliate stations in Germany, Japan, Spain, and Brazil.



We ask that all RSVP’d guests arrive by 5:30PM to ensure entry to the pool deck. Please note that RSVP does not guarantee pool deck entry, and we will begin accepting walk-ins after 5:30PM if capacity allows.
This event can be enjoyed in several areas throughout the site. If you are unable to RSVP but are still interested in accessing the pool deck, we encourage you to check in with Guest Services during the event to join the waitlist and see if space becomes available.

Beach House Parking

Beach House parking is available year-round on a first come, first served basis.

Upon arrival, guests must pay for parking at Pay & Display machines located in each section of the lot and display your receipt on the dashboard. Rates are $4 per hour or $15 per day. Exact change cash and credit cards are accepted.

Guests displaying a valid Disabled Person placard or license plate may park in the Beach House lot for 50% the posted rate. Senior Beach Parking permits issued by the City of Santa Monica are valid in the Beach House lot. For more information, please visit How to Obtain a Senior Beach Parking Permit.

City of Santa Monica Day Beach Permits and California State Parks Vehicle Day Use Annual Passes are NOT accepted at the Beach House.

Additional Parking

If the lot is full, additional parking Lots 8 & 9 (south of the Beach House) and Will Rogers State Beach (North of the Beach House) are within walking distance along the beach footpath. The footpath of the Marvin Braude bike trail connects to the Beach House. Check Santa Monica's city-wide Parking Map for updated information about the Beach House parking lot and other beach lots.

Driving Directions to the Beach House

From Los Angeles: Take the 10 West, which will become Pacific Coast Highway when it reaches the beach. At the second traffic light, Beach House Way, turn left into the parking lot.

From Malibu: Take Pacific Coast Highway south. Turn right at Beach House Way, into the parking lot.

From Santa Monica (downtown): Head west towards Ocean Ave. Turn left at Ocean Ave. Turn right at Moomat Ahiko Way (after Colorado/the pier entrance) which will have signs for Pacific Coast Highway. Turn left at Beach House Way into our parking lot.

Access

The Annenberg Community Beach House is wheelchair accessible and ADA compliant. Two beach wheelchairs will be available for this activity.
