Join us on Ocean Drive on December 28th for a performance featuring Electric Piquete as part of the Ocean Drive Promenade Music Series, a free, weekly concert series presented by the Ocean Drive Association. Pack a picnic blanket or lawn chair to stake out your seat on the lawn. Showtime is at 5:00 PM.Formed in the summer of 2007, Electric Piquete is a two-time Miami New Times “Best Latin Band” award-winning Latin funk outfit. Their influences are as diverse as the Miami region that birthed them, ranging from rock to jazz spiced with everything in between: funk, Afro-Caribbean, progressive, and R&B.
The Miami-based Latin funk “fusionistas” have finally delivered on a promise made some time ago. The band’s new recording Azabache, a full-length collection of new and mostly instrumental music, is now streaming on all platforms and available on CD through Bandcamp.
These events (every Sunday!) are free and open to the public-- and will take place in Lummus Park between 14th Street and 14th Place. Rainy-day location is inside The Betsy Hotel!
