In the traditions of Oscar Peterson, Ray Brown, Monty Alexander and others Prime Time Jazz presents countless standards in fresh, new arrangements.
When one thinks of the most experienced, veteran Jazz musicians in the Athens area, names like Jim McKillip, Chris Enghauser and Tony McCutchen come to mind. PTJ3 presents the most mature Jazz to be heard in this part of the state of Georgia.
The trio has been playing together for the more than two decades now, and it was obvious as they demonstrated musical ESP every week at The Porterhouse Grill in Athens, GA - arguably the longest-running steady jazz gig in Athens history (7 years). Jim, Chris and Tony have performed for hundreds of wedding receptions, festivals and other events over the years. They have backed numerous guest artists, including a Sinatra Tribute with the Macon Symphony as well as local singers such as Sally Wisenberg, Royce Ann Waldorf, Marty Winkler, and Mary Sigalas.
For their concert at OCAF this year they will be joined by the wonderful singer Sally Ann Nichols. Sally Ann has performed previously with Prime Time Jazz at Hendershots to rave reviews. She is on the Music Therapy faculty at the University of Georgia Hodgson School of Music.
