Cancelled! Join us for an Obstacle and Confidence Clinic! This is not a "play day" type event, although there will be plenty of time for you to independently explore obstacles. We begin the clinic on the ground because your FIRST communication with your horse starts there. We'll also spend a few minutes discussing how a horse sees the world, why a horse spooks, and how to create calmness and confidence in your horse (and you).
Obstacles begin small/easy and progress as the day goes on. As the obstacles build in difficulty, we'll help you to recognize how your actions/reactions impact the horse's actions/reactions. We also use patterns and systems to help a horse overcome fear so that, by the end of the clinic, riders often say "I didn't think we could do THAT!"
Ultimately, this clinic is NOT about the obstacles but about building TRUST and COMMUNICATION between you and your horse.
All parts of this clinic can be done on the ground/in-hand, however, your youngsters do need to lead well and, ideally, be willing to send and/or circle you.
We limit riders to 10 or less, so there's plenty of time for individual attention or addressing specific needs. We need a minimum of 6 riders to present the clinic.
Rider fee is $200 for the weekend. Camping or LQ hook-ups are $35/night. Food is not provided, but we'd love to have a pot luck lunch/dinner each day if participants are interested.
To reserve your spot, pay via check, Venmo, or PP. If we need to cancel the clinic for any reason, your money is immediately refunded. If you need to cancel, we'll do our best, depending on the number of riders registered, to refund your fee, but it's not guaranteed.
