About this Event
Studying Art History, Curatorship, or Cultural Management? Considering a career working with cultural collections, or ust interested in how rare, fragile and ancient items are examined and moved in galleries and museums?
In the first of our skills based workshops, the University of Melbourne's collection managers and conservators offer you the opportunity to build your skills in object handling, and the foundational principles of working with collections. This will include typical hazards and vulnerabilities, as well as demonstrations of how to handle and move works on paper, paintings, 3D objects, frames and archival materials.
Students at all levels are welcome, but places are strictly limited.
Proudly presented by Archives and Special Collections in partnership with Grimwade Conservation Services.
