We’re celebrating Open Test Kitchen’s first year on the block with a special party for our supporters, neighbors, and friends - and we want you there!
As Oakland Bloom nears its 10th anniversary, we’re in awe of what this community has achieved together. It feels like just yesterday we were sitting together outlining what a chef-led hub run by immigrant and diaspora chefs - and now we’re here, bringing our cultures’ bounty to more people every day.
To celebrate the incredible individuals and small businesses who make this all possible, we’re throwing our biggest posada yet with crafting, mahjong, delicious treats, and a holiday market featuring local and handcrafted gifts.

About Oakland Bloom and Open Test Kitchen
Oakland Bloom is a nonprofit that supports working-class immigrant and diaspora chef-entrepreneurs to develop their food businesses. Through its project Open Test Kitchen, Oakland Bloom hosts a community kitchen hub, which offers accessible resources for chefs to prepare and share their foods, collaborate with one another, and build support. Oakland Bloom also hosts events that foster community connection , healing , resilience joy, and learning - both at Open Test Kitchen and through its neighborhood-based initiatives in Oakland Chinatown.
