As-Salaam Alaikum,

Join us for our community iftar gatherings held every Saturday and Sunday throughout the blessed month of Ramadan at the TorYork Islamic Centre. Come open fast together in a spirit of gratitude, reflection, communal prayer, and fellowship. All are welcome to participate or observe in whatever capacity they feel most comfortable.

Our jamaat is a diverse and tolerant community, made up of people with different lived experiences, interpretations, and understandings of Muslim identity, Islam, and Ahmadiyyat. We value sincerity over uniformity and thoughtful engagement over dogma, creating space for spiritual growth rooted in mutual respect.

A Brief Note on Who We Are:
We are the (), sometimes colloqioully referred to as 'Lahore Ahmadis' among other names and variants, including the .

We are operationally, attitudinally, and doctrinally mostly distinct from the Rabwah-based (formally, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama‘at). Historically, we have held that (Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Lahori) was an effable human being who experienced ineffable revelations of Truth—experiences which he, and the communities that followed him, articulated in a plurality of ways to reform the Islamic and Islamicate world, the Muslim body politic, and humanity at large.

His mission emphasized reconciliation, peace-building, and understanding between different segments of human society, while recognizing perennial Truth permeating across 'revealed' Traditions in the essence of Tawheed.

In accordance with the well-known hadith describing reformers (mujaddids) arising at the turn of every century—measured by the lunar Hijri calendar adopted and adapted by the majority of Muslims—we hold that 'Mirza Sahib' (Ghulam Ahmad) was appointed by Allah to be the Mujaddid for14th Century al-Hijrah.
'Lahori Ahmadis' hold that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was the principal reformer appointed by to renew, rejuvnate, and revitalize Islam in that century. While other scholars and saints may contribute to reform, he uniquely embodied this centralizing role, fulfilling the prophetic promise of a century-defining mujaddid. This recognition emphasizes his historical and spiritual significance without claiming infallibility or exclusivity in God’s ongoing work of renewal.
As per this framework, we now live in the 15th Century al-Hijrah, and our Anjumaan seeks to sustain that same radical and revolutionary ethic: transforming the world and our relationships through a deepened experiencing of Tawheed.

We understand Ghulam Ahmad as a mystical rationalist, emerging from a rich cross-pollination of traditions and forces—particularly those of Indian Islam and a Sunni, Hanafite, medieval Sufistic background.

The first Ameer and President of our organization was the greatly esteemed , whose enduring contributions include his pioneering English translation and commentary of the Qur’an, seminal works on Islamic theology and history, and a lifelong commitment to presenting Islam as a rational, ethical, and universal faith to the modern world.
