Continuing our “tango fundamentals” series on understanding how and why we tango, on Monday 30th March we have a special workshop with Oa Metzner. The topic is: “Making our tango more solid: how grounding and weight can completely transform the dance”. This is a personalised topic for Bury Tango, having watched a number of videos from our practicas and milongas this is the topic Oa thinks we all need to deepen our dance and connection. This should complement the workshops we’ve had so far in 2026 and we’re excited to find out more.Oa Metzner is a dual role dancer who dances and teaches both the lead and follower role to a very high level. She is based in London when not in Buenos Aires or travelling. Her insights into tango are always useful and unique!
Lesson 7:30-9:00pm at The Hunter Club, warm up from 7pm, Practica afterwards until 10:30pm.
Cost: £15. No need to book in advance or attend with a partner - hope to see you there!
Level of workshop: Oa says: “for all levels except absolute beginners. In fact, the higher the level of the dancer, the more they will take away from it”. The workshop is not suitable for complete beginners (i.e. current January intake) - but it will be accessible for anyone who has done at least a term dancing as we will be working on fundamental tango concepts. We will be drilling deep, so there will be lots to take away at higher levels too.
