NYC Letter-Writing Gathering: Support People Held in Russian Prisons
Join us in New York City for a simple but powerful act of solidarity - writing letters to Ukrainian prisoners of war, detained civilians, and Crimean Tatars held in Russian prisons.
In a city where millions of stories intersect, this is a chance to connect your voice to someone who has been cut off from the world. For many people in detention, letters are one of the very few ways they can feel seen, remembered, and supported.
We’re a community of volunteers based in NYC, and we regularly come together to write and send letters through verified electronic systems used by prisons in Russia.
Important to know:
We send letters electronically, which means they are printed and delivered inside the facilities. In some cases, people are able to reply, and we do receive responses, although not to every letter. Delivery and replies can depend on factors outside of our control.
