About this Event
Welcome to New York City Institute for Data, Engineering, Architecture, and Standards (IDEAS). We're a group that meets periodically to discuss technical topics in data, software engineering, and related fields.
The Event:
On May 14th we'll be gathering to discuss Apache Iceberg. Iceberg has emerged in the last few years as a key piece in the design of enterprise data systems. It's adoption by large organizations has cemented its place in data architectures for the foreseeable future. In this meetup, we'll start to ask the question: "What's next for Iceberg?". A group of selected speakers will touch on more advanced architectures and design patterns involving Iceberg. This meetup is suitable for new or advanced practitioners of Iceberg.
This is a free event. Food and beverages will be available for attendees.
Your Speakers:
1) Jordan Volz (Creator of Lolpop, Principal Solution Engineer @ Snowflake) - Introduction to Iceberg
2) Patrick Angeles - (Data Architect @ Redpanda) Streaming Workflows & Iceberg
3) Jacopo Tagliabue (Co-founder @ Bauplan Labs) - Building and Decomposing Systems with Iceberg
