About this Event
The Value in Racial Diversity Network would like to invite colleagues to a Community Iftar evening meal on Wednesday 11 March at County Hall Café in Northallerton.
It will cost £5 per person to attend the event. This can be paid on arrival either in cash or by card.
Muslims fast from food and drink, during daylight hours, as a means of learning self-control, gratitude, and compassion for those less fortunate. At sunset, those who are fasting break their fast with an evening meal often shared with family and friends - this meal is called an Iftar.
The evening will begin with a welcome from members of the Value in Racial Diversity Network, and a short Q and A session explaining the importance of Ramadan, Iftar and Eid. At sunset (Approximately 18:00 – 18:10) those observing Ramadan will have the opportunity to pray in a designated prayer room, and food will be served.
