NYC 520 - City Island Oyster Monitoring and Biodiversity Boat Activity

This group boat activity will be guided by City Island Oyster Reef with commentary from NYC Department of City Planning staff. This opportunity offers a closer look at the Long Island Sound estuary and the benefits of once-flourishing oyster reefs that are being rebuilt through volunteer-driven efforts. Participants will see first-hand how organizations like City Island Oyster Reef maintain oyster cages and monitor the health of the local ecosystem.

Reservation for the boat activity is required on a first come first serve basis. Please read below for more information.

• Minimum Age: 10 years old +
• The event will start at 9 AM. Please arrive at 8:45 AM.
• City Island Oyster Reef will provide life vests for everyone.
• Waitlist: Reservation is required on a first come first serve basis. After the event becomes full, interested parties will be added to a waitlist. If any spots become available, the event organizer will contact people on the waitlist in the order that they added themselves to the waitlist.
• There is street parking available near the meeting point.
