Når de ti år senere blir invitert på high school reunion føler de seg ille til mote. De har ikke gjort noe spesielt i livet, og er fremdeles romkamerater. Etter et desperat forsøk på å snu livene sine rundt, innser de at reunionen er i anmarsj. Derfor legger de en plan for å lure sine gamle medelever til å tro at de ikke er de samme taperene som de var på high school.

Romy and Michelle were losers in high school.
When they ten years later get invited to their high school reunion, they feel like failures. They haven’t accomplished anything, and atop of that, they’re still roommates. After desperately attempting to fix their lives, they realise the reunion is approaching at a rapid pace. Therefore they make a plan to trick their old classmates into thinking that they are not the same losers they were in high school.
