About this Event
Health Forum is open to health practitioners only
The NWG Network had previously worked closely with Sajid Javid and Olivia Robey through the Centre of Social Justice on the report ‘Unsafe Children’. Sajid Javid had moved to the role of Secretary of State for Health and Olivia Robey, who had joined him in the department, was keen to explore the health aspect of child abuse and exploitation.
The NWG facilitated several events to hear directly from practitioners and from those engagement sessions, it was clear that a forum would be beneficial to many of you and your colleagues.
The NWG runs online forums for our members to share practice and learning where strategic and frontline practitioners are encouraged to share key developments and practices identified in areas for future focus and discussions. We learn from national, regional and local developments including research, policy and emerging practice. Our health lead previously ran a health forum but hasn't had one for a while, however, we are delighted to re-launch this forum and announce our new Co-Chair - Clare Beecher who is working at Sheffield Children's Hospital as nurse manager for the children's SARC and manages the health practitioners in a multi-agency hub tackling the issues of child sexual exploitation.
If you are a health practitioner working with children and young people exploited, then this forum is to support you in your work and help you maximise your impact.
The forum enables practitioners to, amongst other things:
- Network and gain informal support
- Share and find solutions to common frustrations and challenges
- Listen and respond to the voices/experiences of children and their families.
