Child Sexual Exploitation Awareness and Myth Busting
About this Event

A 1-hour webinar 'Myth Busting CSE' was written to support the 2023 National Child Exploitation Awareness Day.

There is a recognition nationally that as the focus has shifted to county lines and other forms of child criminal exploitation there is a risk that we have ‘lost sight’ of victims of child sexual exploitation (CSE).

T his informative session is designed to give you information about

  • what Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery is
  • w hat the NRM is
  • what CSE is
  • how children are targeted and groomed for the purpose of CSE
  • signs that might indicate that a child is being groomed for CSE or is a victim of CSE
  • how to respond to CSE to protect children and hold the abusers to account for the abuse and harm that they cause.

Over 770 people have attended this training to date - here is some of the feedback

" This was very informative and interesting I think everyone should be on this course"

" Very well put together. Impactful. Awareness hopefully will evoke change"

"The presentation was very informative and gave clear information on how CSE can occur to any child, in any setting. It will be invaluable to my job working closely with under 18s/ vulnerable people within sexual health."

" I found today's training very informative, and it was delivered in a way that made it interesting and easy to understand"

"really powerful information and topic. really worthwhile to really think about as children come through our services and to try and uncover/ unpick why a child is acting/ behaving in certain ways. helpful in understanding their further actions as adults"

Protecting children is EVERYBODY's responsibility and with that in mind, this course is open to everyone because uniting together we can raise awareness and help stop the abuse of children through sexual exploitation.

This event will run on Microsoft Teams. A link to join will be sent via an Eventbrite email 48 hours and again 30 minutes before the start. Please check your spam/junk folders.
