NWFSC Announces Special Guest Meg Cabot for 2026 READS Book Signing Event
Northwest Florida State College (NWFSC) is thrilled to announce that New York Times bestselling author Meg Cabot will be the featured guest at this year’s READS event on Thursday, April 9, 2026. Cabot is the acclaimed writer behind the beloved The Princess Diaries novels — a series that has sold millions of copies worldwide and inspired two hit Disney films — along with more than 80 other works of fiction for young adults and adults alike.
Cabot’s dynamic storytelling has made her one of the most celebrated contemporary authors of her generation. Her work spans genres including romance, mystery, women’s literature, and young adult fiction, with series such as The Princess Diaries, The Mediator, Airhead, All-American Girl, and Avalon High delighting readers across the globe. Her books have been published in dozens of countries and have garnered multiple awards, reflecting her enduring impact on readers of all ages.
The READS event will begin at 6:30 p.m. on the main stage of the Mattie Kelly Arts Center. Cabot will share insights into her writing journey, discuss the themes and inspiration behind her most iconic works, and reflect on the power of storytelling in today’s world. Following the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a book signing, meet Cabot in person, and have their copies of her books personally autographed.
“We are honored to welcome Meg Cabot to Northwest Florida State College,” said Dr. Heather Hartness, Associate Professor of Rhetoric and Composition at NWFSC. “Her remarkable career and connection with readers of all ages perfectly embody the spirit of our READS celebration — inspiring imagination, championing literacy, and bringing communities together through the love of books.”
