Athletes spend the vast majority of their
energy in training, so it’s important to know
what to eat to properly fuel yourself, and
how this varies with different phases of
your season.
This talk will cover energy availability,
fuel insufficiency, Red-S, considerations for female athletes, and training your gut.
Jeni Pearce, Head of Performance Nutrition at High Performance Sport NZ
Jeni is one of NZ’s leading sports dietitians and performance nutritionists,
with extensive experience in working with athletes and sports.
She is currently the Head of Performance Nutrition for
High Performance Sport NZ. She leads the HPSNZ Supplement
Programme and is currently the Lead Performance
Nutritionist for Women’s Hockey and Equestrian. She is an
author of 12 books and textbook chapters as well as several
peer-reviewed articles. Jeni is very practical and
realistic in her recommendations and advice.
