ABOUT THE BANDS:
Opening Act ALR Trio - Formed in Brevard NC in 2019, ALR Trio brings classic influences like Cream and Hendrix, to form a melting pot of their own style of Blues/Rock music. Knowing each other from the local grapevine, Matt Allender, Tink Lawing and Rabbit put aside their own bands to form the super group and write their own music. With their long jam sessions and improvising skills, they are keeping the music scene alive.
Nuthin Fancy Band - At ages 13, Jeff Delk and John Hamilton, from Brevard NC had already started a band. They decided to call their band Nuthin Fancy, the title of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s 3rd album. Another reason for the name was Jeff and John actually attended Skynyrd’s last show on October 19, 1977, the night before Skynyrd’s fatal plane crash. Nuthin Fancy didn’t however want to be a tribute band so they continued to write their own songs and started playing locally wherever they could, school talent shows, fundraisers, and just any event that allowed them play. Fast forward to 1983 when John met Stan Stone, a keyboard player at Brevard College. After they graduated, Stan, Jeff, and John along with drummer Chris Pangle decided to try and make it a career. They toured up and down the East Coast, sharing the stage with many country music artists including George Jones, Charlie Daniels, Asleep at the Wheel, Marty Stuart, Little Texas, Kris Kristofferson, Kentucky Headhunters and many others. In 1996 Nuthin Fancy released a CD titled Room to Breathe, with that song being a crowd favorite. Also around that time Chris left the band and Keith Arnold joined as the drummer and vocalist, already having years of experience and touring out of Nashville as one half of a duo. Today Jeff, Stan, John and Keith continue to do select shows. Their musicianship, harmony, songwriting and camaraderie is still evident today, outlasting a lot of their peers who have come and gone.
ABOUT THE VENUE: The concert stage will be set up inside the Mayes Event Center, with rollup doors that open to an outdoor patio and grass yard. Set up your seats inside near the stage or spread out with chairs or a blanket on the hill outside. Concert will take place rain or shine. Food truck along with beer & wine will be available for purchase. No outside food or beverages and no coolers allowed. Contact [email protected] with questions.
