Overview
ACHIA NSW is pleased to present our 2026 in-person Introduction to NCAT training series for Aboriginal Community Housing Providers. This two-day program strengthens your understanding of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) and equips your organisation to navigate tenancy matters with confidence.
About This Event
This introductory, two‑day in‑person training is designed for ACHP staff who may attend NCAT as organisational representatives. Participants will learn how to:
- Understand NCAT’s purpose, structure, and decision‑making roles
- Collect, organise and present evidence effectively
- Connect tenancy issues to the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA)
- Lodge applications, read timelines, and prepare for hearings
- Engage confidently in tribunal processes

This edition of our NCAT Training series is open and free to all ACHPs, not just those registered with AHO.

Registration
Places fill quickly. Full pretraining instructions will be provided upon registration.
Eligible participants may apply for travel and accommodation reimbursement in line with the ACHIA NSW policy.

Commitment Deposit Policy
To ensure we can deliver a high-quality event experience for all attendees, a $200 commitment deposit is required at the time of registration. This deposit helps cover nonrecoverable costs associated with catering, venue preparation, and program materials.
The $200 deposit will be fully refunded for ACHIA NSW Members after the event if you attend.
If you are unable to attend, you must provide notice at least 21 days prior to the event date to receive a refund. Exemptions for Sorry Business may be granted at the discretion of ACHIA NSW, in recognition of cultural obligations that may arise unexpectedly.
