Competition Champion will be the winner of the Advanced Class.
NSW/ACT State Champion will be the highest placed resident of NSW or ACT in the Advanced Class.
Age Categories are Child 13 and under, Junior 14 to 17 and Senior 18 and over.
A Novice canter class will be added if there is sufficient entries in the canter class that meet the definition. If there are not sufficient entries, a Novice prize will be available to the highest placed novice rider. The definition of a novice rider will be considered as someone who has;
A/ not achieved a HA1 or above grading
OR
B/ not shot a HA2 or above score on a raid and tower track in the last 12months, or two HA2 scores on either track in the past 2 years
OR
C/ Are attending your first HBAE competition in Canter class (regardless of the above)
Advanced and novice classes may be added to the Trot and Walk grades also dependent on entries.
Approved safety riding helmets and closed boots with a heel must be worn at all times whilst on horseback. Bows with non-centre fire and no handles, grips or shelves will be required for the Advanced classes only, as per IHAA rules.
All competition participants are required to be current full financial members of Australian Horse Archery Association or pay the non-member levy. Non-members may compete by paying the short-term insurance levy fee as part of their entry and completing the self-declaration, or by joining the Association. If joining, membership applications must be submitted at least two weeks prior to entry for consideration.
All fees must be up to date and forms and waivers must be signed before entries can be accepted. These are available at www.horsearchery.com.au

Camping available from 8 - 13 April at $20.00 per night.
Limited horse hire is available. If requiring a horse please select the horse hire options and complete the horse hire application.

Indicative running order. Will be confirmed when entries close. Please ensure you are available on all three days from 0900 - 1700.
Thursday 9 April – Official Practice
Friday 10 April – Straight Tracks (Tower / Raid) and walk trot equivalent
Saturday 11 April – Straight Tracks (Tower / Raid) and walk trot equivalent
Sunday 12 April - Hunt Track
Competitors can enter up to two grades.
First Competition Grade Entered - $180
Second Completion Grade Entered - $100
FAMILY DISCOUNT - If members qualify for AHAA Family Membership then first grade ticket only needs to be purchased for one family members, with other members entered as Second Grade Entered tickets if purchased in single transaction.
Camping - $20 per night
Horse Yard (very limited) $20 per night/day (24 hour period)
Horse Hire - $260 for first class, $130 if additional class entered (N.B. strict conditions apply.)
Non-Member Insurance Levy - $50
BYO food. Onsite lunch option may be available, to be confirmed closer to event date.
Grounds have shower and toilets and small kitchenette area available.
There is a pub and service station approximately 1km from the grounds. The service station sells convenience groceries. The pub serves lunch and dinner every night and has accommodation available. Outside these facilities is approximately 30 mins drive to a town with supermarket, pharmacy etc. so please come prepared
This event is an IHAA HBAE event and includes complaint Raid, Tower and Hunt tracks. Walk/Trot will complete alternative suitable tracks. All tracks must be competed to be eligible for Champion in each grade. Combined points from each track will determine the overall winners.
Competitors must assist with pack up, pack down, judging and any other tasks required to run the competition.
Ribbons will be given for each track and prizes for each class and age group. Some age groups may be combined depending on total participant numbers.
Getting There
Tarago is approximately 50 mins from Canberra Airport by car. If you are flying in please contact us to discuss the best ways to get there from the Airport. It is on the train line between Sydney and Canberra, and accessible from Sydney Airport in this manner. It is 30 mins from the Hume Highway at Goulburn, If driving from Braidwood or Goulburn, take the Braidwood Goulburn Road. If coming from Canberra take Tarago Road from Bungendore. If coming from Nowra take the Nerriga Road and Oallen Road. The grounds are approximately 1km south of the village on the Braidwood-Goulburn Road.
