NOTICE OF SPECIAL GENERAL MEETINGKia ora Newlands Softball members,
We’re calling a Special General Meeting (SGM) to adopt an updated Newlands Softball Club Constitution, so that our rules stay modern, compliant, and aligned with who we are as a club today.
WHY WE’RE UPDATING OUR CONSTITUTION
Recent changes to the Incorporated Societies Act mean all incorporated societies (including clubs like ours) need to update their constitutions by 6 April to meet the new rules.
Any society that doesn’t make these updates in time won’t be able to keep operating under the new law.
COME ALONG!
Our constitution can’t be changed without the approval of our members at a properly constituted SGM. By attending, you help us:
• Meet quorum
• Vote on the proposed changes
• Shape the direction and values of our club
Before the meeting, we’ll share the proposed revised constitution and a summary of the key changes. A comparison with our current version will be presented at the meeting.
Our club runs on community and whānau involvement, and this update is an important step in keeping things running well for everyone!
