Join the NSA X HSA Culture Show!
This year the Habesha Student Association and Nigerian Student Association, is set to present East Meets West: Forbidden Love, a cultural showcase that comes alive with a dramatization of a wedding ceremony. This event is inspired by a Romeo and Juliet theme, but in this case, it sets the scene for an Eastern/Western wedding.
By using skits, traditional dance performances, music, traditional clothing, food, and stories, the showcase will not only highlight the beauty and values surrounding these cultures but also emphasizes the significant similarities and differences between East and West African cultures as they relate to wedding traditions.
This isn't just a live performance, it is an entertaining and educational experience at the same time. Through the union of dramatic skits and cultural dance, this play offers a venue that allows cultural appreciation, understanding, and connection in "East Meets West: Forbidden Love" that teaches people something new about identity, love, and culture.
