The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course (BoPS) teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely. This course is 8-hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot semi-automatic pistols. Students learn the NRA's rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position and two-handed standing position; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the BoPS handbook and through completion of the course, students will earn a course completion certificate from the NRA. .22lr pistols and ammunition will be provided for students to use. You are welcome to bring your own pistol and ammunition if you choose and are approved by the instructor. This course is limited to 8 students, with a minimum requirement of 4 students. Cost for this class is $125 and includes all course materials. Payment is due at the start of class by cash, check, PayPal or Venmo.
