A tight-knit ensemble, musicians who understand each other perfectly. The Novo Quartet has only been together for six years, but it feels as if they’ve had a long career together. During this Piknik concert, they present Dmitri Shostakovich's post-war 'String Quartet in F major', one of his most characteristic works of which he himself was very satisfied. They present it alongside Robert Schumann's 'Third String Quartet', part of his only exploration of the genre, bundled in Opus 41. Schumann composed the three string quartets in just five weeks, after an obsessive study of Mozart, Beethoven, and Haydn's string quartets.__________________________________________
