About this Event
Come Dance with Us!
Musical Playlists, Amazing People, Quirky Dance Themes and Shower Curtains
Say hello to a whole month of unapologetic self-expression on Kula’s virtual dance floor (otherwise known as your living room). Kula’s Dance Experiment isn’t your typical dance class. In fact, it’s not a class at all. It’s a journey of self-discovery and shared joy to start your days on the right note... with the right energy... and some of the most incredible people you will ever meet.
Join Us for Another Month of Dance and Meditation
Have you ever wondered what dancing a little bit every day could do for you? Curious about meditation but not sure where to start? Join us in Zoom and uncover the transformative power of daily dance and meditation. We promise to start your mornings full of energy, positive vibes and some really amazing music.
No experience needed and it’s not required to keep your camera on during the Meditation or the Dance.
What to Expect:
Daily Virtual Dance Parties: We gather every morning at 6:30 a.m. PDT
Joy Facilitators: Meet our dance facilitators: Anastasia, Bonnie, Amanda, Molly, Courtney, Chizuko, and Allison.
Inspiring Playlists: We’ll keep you moving with carefully curated playlists
More Than Just Dance: Expect some crazy dance themes, musical throwdowns, dress-up days (not what you think), and even shower curtain giveaways. Yes, you read that right!
Unexpected Surprises: We like to sprinkle a little magic into our mornings to help you start your day on the right note.
Why Dance and Meditate?
The mediations are designed to help reconnect you with the present moment while the dance is designed to help raise your energy and create a sense of community. There is no right or wrong way to dance or experience the Dance Experiment.
Meditation: Improve focus, increase self-awareness, and boost patience, tolerance, imagination, and creativity.
Dance: It’s pure fun and will leave you feeling amazing every day. Try it to believe it!
Meet Our Joy Facilitators!
Our Joy Facilitators collectively have very little dance experience! However, they have a passion for spreading good cheer, laughter and smiles wherever they go. They are ready to show you what it takes to get out of your head, over yourself and into a high vibrational state of pure dancing joy. Come dance with us!
Anastasia Allison: Our founder and dance enthusiast. Her journey from “random spastic” movements to “interpretive alpine shuffling” will inspire you.
Bonnie Ackerman: A certified Kula Dance groupie with a passion for making people smile.
Amanda Lemay: Amanda joins us all the way from The Canadian Gulf Islands and knows the importance of moving our bodies to release emotions.
Molly Moore: Dancing from Pittsburgh and experiencing the joy of dancing freely.
Marie DeJournette: Once a Joy Facilitator always a Joy Facilitator. Marie has retired from the Dance - but can still be found spreading joy far and wide.
Courtney Lake: Hand-picked to continue the Dance Experiment all the way from Toronto, Canada.
Chizuko Heyer: Our newest Joy Facilitator! Her most dance-relevant experience includes being a dance/ballet mom for 14 years (& counting). Excited to be joining this non-choreographed form of gathering as a facilitator!
Allison Tapert: Former dance hater who once said you couldn’t pay her to dance - can now be seen dancing in the grocery store.
THE FINE PRINT BUT DEFINITELY NOT A DISCLAIMER: Dancing can be addictive. Please consult your primary care physician before starting this or any other dance regimen. Side affects may include: laughter, excessive smiling, sweating, joy and occasional muscle cramps. Individual results may vary.
A SPECIAL NOTE: If you do suffer any of the above side effects, meditation may help.
