Come and join our 3.5 mile guided heritage walk around some of the fascinating historic buildings of Upminster!This informative walk will showcase many local heritage buildings and their histories, including the Tithe Barn, Upminster Hall (now the Golf Club), Upminster Windmill, the Old Chapel, the Church of St Laurence and the Clock House as well as some less well known buildings. (Note - there will not be time to go inside the buildings). A perfect walk to discover the local built history of Upminster.
We will meet at 10am at the Car Park at Hall Lane playing fields, next to the Tithe Barn, and return there at approximately 1pm. Parking is free, be sure to park in the playing fields car park, which is the left hand driveway as you turn in off Hall Lane (signposted for the Rugby club), not the Golf Club next door. If travelling by public transport it is a 15 minute walk from Upminster station; turn right out of the main entrance to the station and walk up Hall Lane until you get there, it is on your right. Alternatively, take a 248 or 346 bus from outside M&S (almost opposite the station) four stops to the Tithe Barn Museum stop.
This walk is suitable for ages 18 years and over. Please note there are no scheduled toilet facilities on this walk.
